从第一部分开始,科技类话题就比比皆是;APP, mobile phone, computer, emails等等,到第二部分describe a time you were pleased with your mobile phones, describe an invention that has changed the world,再到最近上新的话题;describe a piece of new technology in your house。
科技类话题的实力支撑;
Device:
如果你know the make up of a computer inside out,那你可以说自己是tech-savvy person。
等等~对于tech-savvy older adults,technology as a tool for connecting with family and friends, developing new friendships, and exploring options for entertainment as well as hobbies. 而科技类产品对于年轻人的重要性不言而喻;it is their living style to keep up with the latest model of products.
英语中有个俗语叫做;teach an old dog new tricks说的就是使守旧的人接受新事物。但怎么教授老年人使用新科技产品,我们可以从以下几点思路展开;
1. Basic setting can help
The size and behavior of content and program on devices can usually be altered in the setting menu, for example, making text bigger and sounds louder.
2. Have a notebook to write down all the instructions
Sometimes the keys are too small for them to see and arthritic fingers have trouble pressing the right buttons, so teaching them only the basics of one device at a time is necessary. Again-write everything down in their “tech notebook”.
3. Help them overcome their fears
Some of the biggest barriers to digital learning for older people are: they won’t know how to do it. If you keep it simple, relevant and engaging, your older friend or family member will soon know that they can have their own digital adventure.
科技对于生活的影响,利与弊,这样的提问切入角度在第三部分尤为突出。而其答案涉及的方面实在多而且广,所以笔者就两方面的三个角度进行探讨,总结为如下的六点;
GOOD EFFECTS
1. Communication redefined
Mobile phones have broadened the horizons of communication by enabling long-distance calling. Letters have taken a backseat and emails & cell phone messages have become the easiest means to connect.
2. Changed modes of transport
Technology was the driving force behind the creation and design of the modern-day automobiles. Bicycles evolved into scooters and sports bikes. And the idea of having four-wheeled modes of transport gave rise to the creation of cars.
3. Data management
Computers can store, organize and manage huge amounts of data. They can process large amounts of information. Also, computers have given rise to the software industry, one of the most progressive industries of the world.
BAD EFFECTS
1. Psychological issues
The technology can lead to the social isolation that is characterized by a lack of contact with other people in normal daily living such as the workplace, with friends and in social activities.
2. Privacy problems
The technology causes a lack of privacy, where anyone can with a few flicks on the keyboard find anyone’s address and contact information, so, they can use of phishing, viruses and hacking that helps to find any information they wish to obtain.
3. Body influences
The technology affects on our body for it causes the neck and head pain when you look down the devices. It also causes blurred vision and migraines, and eyestrain can also causes the headaches.
