Some people hold that due to the convenience and the low cost of reading e-books,itispossiblethate-bookswillbecomethesubstitutefortraditionalbooks. Inmyopinion,however,e-bookscannotcompetewithpaperbooksinthefollowing aspects. Firstly, you can bring and read a paper book whenever and wherever you are, but you cannot always have a usable e-reader device. Secondly, as to note- taking, scanning and skimming, paper books have moreadvantages.
Above all, it is wise to choose the way of reading according to one’s needs.

The past decade has witnessed the ascending population of senior citizens in China. To be specific, the number of people over 60 years old increased steadily from 0.159 billion in 2008 to 0.248 billion in 2017. Meanwhile, the percentage of these people in China rose significantly from 12% to 17.3%.
Obviously, the author’s purpose is to show us that due attention should be paid to the phenomenon of aging population. What exactly contributes to this
phenomenon? It is a thought-provoking question. Primarily, people’s life expectancy has improved in many societies, possibly because of improvements in technology and the growing concern about personal health. Yet, one problem associatedwithanagingpopulationisthathealthcarecostswillincrease, imposing a burden on taxpayers. Besides, the slow pace of work is another problem, as the number of senior workers increases. If the elderly choose to delay retirement, their presence in the workforce can influence productivity of companies and the whole society.
In conclusion, the aging population and extension of life expectancy have put a strain on health care and made the workforce less productive. It appeals to all efforts from the society and the government to take practical actions, such as shoulderingresponsibilitytotakecareofouragingparents.Onlyinthiswaycanwe expect a healthiersociety.
